Assets School is a co-educational, independent K-12 school in Honolulu, Hawaii that has been educating students who are gifted and/or dyslexic since 1969. The school offers an individualized, integrated learning environment that empowers children to maximize their potential as lifelong learners in school and society. Committed to educating the whole student, Assets designs personalized and strategic programs to challenge, sustain and support the growth of children academically, socially and personally.
Assets School has emerged over the decades as a one-of-a-kind institution that puts the learning needs of the gifted and/or dyslexic student first. Small class sizes allow for differentiated curriculum with individualized instruction where students can learn at their own pace. A positive, campus-wide behavior management program focuses on building resilience and personal responsibility while keeping academic pursuits central to the Assets' education.
Always evolving and adapting to the changing needs of the community, Assets began a new undertaking in 1999 with the Assets Teacher Training and Outreach Program. This program was established to ensure that thousands of children, not only Assets School students, benefited from better-informed teachers, parents and other professionals who work in language-based learning differences environments. A true success, Assets has become a leader in education garnering a reputation of innovative teaching practices and proven student success. Hundreds of teachers, administrators and other professionals from Hawaii, the U.S. Mainland and from throughout the world receive specialized training from Assets each year. These students are crucial to the well being of the next generation. Assets School strives to make a difference in education by providing learning that transforms lives.
Assets School values their one to one interaction with students. Students are counseled regularly individually and as a group to ensure their progress. With a staff exceeding 60 teachers, nearly 400 students receive their individual attention with the K-8 classrooms averaging 16 students.
